Further inventory of the biodiversity of carnivores in the Qin-ling Range is needed. The project with meaningful importance could be carried out with emphasis on nature conservation sensu stricte and zoological exploration i.e. quest for obscure populations of raccoon dogs mentioned in paper A Naturalist in Western China (1911), hog-badgers (see papers: China's Natural History by Sowerby in 1936 and Helgen et al. 2008), golden cats (described in laitimes.com as animal called shan biao, 2022) and yellow-throated martens (other refs.). As for small project, there can be used sign-detection method, village and trade census, non-invasive monitoring and reconnaissance records. Presence-absence data would be confirmed via these records. One of the main priorities for understanding the carnivore guild is filling the gaps in knowledge about distribution patterns in this region, behavioral traits, foraging norms... Other important aspects are ecological requirements, of course interactions with humans and discovering potential cryptic populations or even unknown species (Pietrzak & league/scientifique, 2017).
